What Figlet is
--------------
Figlet is a program which produces large ASCII art letters such as those at
the top of this document. You can choose from a variety of typestyles. The
results are displayed in a window, and can be saved as a text file using
drag-and-drop.
The original version by Glenn Chappell and Ian Chai ran under unix. This
version has been altered slightly, and a frontend has been bolted on. The
original README is supplied in the DOCS directory as README_unx, but as it
describes the use of the original command-line version most of it is
irrelevant - it does give you the original authors contact details.
How to use Figlet
-----------------
You will need to have installed the toolbox modules on your system. These
are included in RISC OS 3.60, but earlier versions of the operating system
need to have them added as an extra. Sorry about this, but it's so much
easier to use the toolbox. Many new applications come with the toolbox
modules, so you might have them on your system already.
Load the application by double-clicking on it. It will install itself on
the iconbar. Click select over the iconbar icon to bring up the main window.
Set the window to the options you want and click on 'Process'. The results
will appear in another window.
In the main window, the 'Font' section determines which typestyle will be
used by Figlet. These are as supplied with Unix Figlet. Experiment to find
which one you want. The 'Width' field is used to split text up. This is
useful if the destination has to fit into, say, 80 columns for an email
signature. The centre option is used to choose between centring and left
justifying the output. The 'Text' field is what will be converted into the
large letters.
If you move the pointer over the results window, click Menu and you will
get a standard save box. You can drag the icon to a directory display or
another application, and the output text will be transfered.
If you get really stuck, then try using the !Help application.

Bugs
----
I haven't found any but this was a really quick job, so there's probably
more bugs but I haven't found them yet.
